Project Description

Improvement bond will allow for construction and materials needed to increase drainage capacity to alleviate the continual burden of downtown homes and businesses of flood and flood cleanup. Drainage needs to be permanently improved and solved to increase overall downtown appeal while contributing to the revitalization plan for a thriving downtown economy.

Bonds of the City of Heber Springs in the maximum principal amount of $3,360,000 for the purpose of financing all or a portion of the costs of drainage and flood control improvements and any equipment related thereto and, in order to pay the bonds, the levy and pledge of a 0.625% local sales and use tax within the City, which will replace an existing 0.625% sales and use tax levied in 2006 for the sole purpose of retiring bonds.
